What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you enter, the time you submitted it, the page you submitted it from, and, if present, the UTM parameters from the link you arrived on (source, medium, campaign, term, content). That's the complete list — we don't collect names, payment details, or anything beyond what the waitlist form itself asks for.
Why we collect it
Solely to communicate with you about QuitSurf's launch: a notification when the app is ready, and, in the meantime, occasional honest emails about quitting, written in the same tone as this site. The source page and UTM data help us understand which pages and campaigns are useful to people, so we can write more of what's working and less of what isn't.
Where it's stored
Your data is stored and processed by Amazon Web Services (AWS), which powers the waitlist database and email infrastructure behind this site. We don't run our own servers for this data — it lives in AWS's infrastructure, under AWS's standard security practices.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
If you click "Allow" on our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 — it sets analytics cookies and tells us, in aggregate, which pages people visit, where they came from, and whether they joined the waitlist. We use it to understand what content helps and what doesn't. Google processes this data per Google's privacy policy. Nothing loads unless you allow it.
Advertising cookies (Meta Pixel)
If you click "Allow" on our cookie banner, we load the Meta (Facebook) Pixel — a small script that sets an advertising cookie and tells Meta which pages you visited and whether you joined the waitlist. We use it for one thing: understanding which ads bring people who actually find QuitSurf useful, so we don't waste money showing ads to people who won't. Meta acts as its own data controller for the data the pixel collects — see Meta's privacy policy.
Nothing Meta-related loads unless you explicitly allow it, and declining changes nothing about how the site works. To withdraw consent later, clear this site's cookies/storage in your browser — the banner will ask again on your next visit.
What we don't do
We never sell or rent your email address to anyone. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use it for anything beyond the launch communication described above.
Deleting your data
Email hello@quitsurf.com at any time and ask us to delete your information — we'll remove it from our waitlist without asking why. Every email we send also includes an unsubscribe link that removes you immediately.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you want more detail on how a specific piece of data is used, reach out to hello@quitsurf.com and we'll answer directly.
